Sclerosis. I had heard about it but never really knew what it realky was.
MS affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other. Nerve cells communicate by sending electrical signals called action potentials down long fibers called axons, which are wrapped in an insulating substance called myelin. In MS, the body's own immune system attacks and damages the myelin. When myelin is lost, the axons can no longer effectively conduct signals.
So instead of letting her life slip through her fingers and wait until she would not be able to walk or do things she enjoys. She took a chance on this operation. This is not offered here in Quebec/Canada as,apperently, our governement needs more reaserch and testing. In the meantime what the human beings who suffer everyday are supposed to do.
